The meeting last night went well. Big crowd, lots of old and new faces. For those of you came, much thanks. For those of you who couldn't make it, lemme sum up what we talked about.

First, we (Maelona, Talmiran, and I) introduced ourselves. Rottcloar doesn't count. ;/ I'm the Barbarian Liaison, Maelona is the Barbarian Guru, and Talmiran is a member of the Area Design team with a particular interest in Barbarian matters. Talmiran designed the Panther Dance pit and area. ;)

After that, we announced that Panther would be released right after the meeting (and it was, with no hitches). It's in a very short three day premium preview. So, sometime Wednesday evening, I'll be opening it up to everyone. I also mentioned that it is P3 and has a 40th circle requirement, although any Barbarian over 9th can get in and enjoy the area.

Next, I announced a new Barbarian Guildhall that is near completion on M'Riss. It's in Mer'Kresh, a bit north of the muesem. This guild will have a library, meditation garden, and lots of interesting things to look at. In the library, we'd like to put in books about Barbarian history, Barbarian heroes and stories. In this regard, we are accepting book submissions from players. If you'd like to create and write about a historical Barbarian or battle or such, send the *completed* book to me for submission. dr-ariath@play.net Don't alter major historical events or use major historical figures in any significant way. Also, please only send me serious submissions. I get too much mail as is. <g> This is scheduled to be opened sometime in January. Also, we mentioned that the opening of this guild doesn't mean there will never be a guild on Aesry.

I then spoke a bit about Firebreathing. This system is also nearing completion. What this system does is allows someone to take a swig of naphtha and spray it across a torch. Several things can happen. The sprayer may mess up and will catch themselves in a nice fireball, or they may engulf everything at melee in flames. Firebreathing will be open to everyone, but Barbarians will get a significant bonus to both spraying and dodging.

After these announcments about projects in the implementation phase, Maelona and I spoke a bit about things in the development phase. We threw out some ideas concerning Meditations and Battle Awen, Tumbling, and some other things. Maelona mentioned that Tumbling is still a long ways off.

After this we did a Q&A. Thanks for you guys that had serious and valid questions. Phhbbbt! To those that didn't.

Finally, I opened up the floor and mayhem ensued. Rotty actually though I'd made a hole in floor, and tried to wriggle his wormy self through the carpet.

Panther was found in under an hour after I released it. Lots of Barbarians have it now. ;)

Lemme give you some very basic generalities as to what it does. I'll let you figure out the specifics yourself.

Panther affects both offense and defense, duplicating some of Wolvering but adding a couple new bonuses. It doesn't do anything as apparent as a strength bonus, or balance bonus, or perception bonus, so it may not seem like it does much at first glance. Those three things are very easy to notice and quantify. Panther's effects are more subtle, but also more powerful. It's a deadly dance designed expressely for hunting. Hence, Panther.
